HHS Opens Funding for Pediatric Recruitment Program

Secretary Becerra announces grants that will address health professional shortages in the United States.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently launched a new grant for child health care recruitment called the Pediatric Specialty Loan Repayment Program. Clinicians with a pediatric subspecialty, such as pediatric surgery or behavioral healthcare, can receive up to $100,000 from the program’s pool of $15 million if they dedicate themselves to three years of service in their field.

“In order to improve access to care for children and young people in underserved areas, we need to expand the health care workforce,” said Secretary Xavier Becerra. “Through the Pediatric Specialty Loan Repayment Program, we will be able to recruit and train new doctors, nurses, counselors, and other health professionals, and improve health outcomes for young people.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Becerra to be led by the Lord as he heads the federal health department.
  • For U.S. health officials as they review applications for federal funding for pediatric healthcare.
  • For the physicians, nurses, and counselors who seek to help children each day.
